For Animals, for Amateurs

'חיות וחובבים' הוא מופע על חיות המופיעות לעיתים על סף הגן ועל הסגת הגבול הכרוכה בירידת גרם המדרגות הארוך המוביל לחניון נטוש או שטח מרעה. תהלוכה מוזיקלית אנתרופומורפית מובילה אל מעבר לטקסונומיה של הגן הבוטני. שם ננגן סרנדה לכלבים החיים בין הגן, האוניברסיטה העברית ולבין עיסאוויה. זאת הזמנה לשהות לרגע בעמימות בין המבוית, הסמלי והקל לזיהוי לבין הנוף המודחק מצפון. בין הנוף הצלילי של הר הצופים לבין שירי פולק אמריקאיים החוגגים את הגן המתורבת ומבכים את אובדן הילידי והפראי.

“For Animals, For Amateurs” is a performance about liminal species in liminal parking lots and something like the idea of trespassing via a long staircase to pasture. An anthropomorphic musical procession will head to the edge of the Hebrew Univeristy’s Botanical Garden and all its taxonomy to serenade a few stray dogs that inhabit a neglected space between the garden and the Palestinian village of Issawiya. Taking after the dogs- domesticated gone wild- the parade suggests a lingering in the certain ambiguity between the tame, symbolic, easily identifiable and the social reality in sight and out of sight; between the soundscape of Mount Scopus and the american folk songs that romanticize and politicize the cultured garden and lament the loss of the wild and the native.
